Phoenix Health Insurance was established in 1953 originally for the needs of Australia’s steel industry. Today, they have over 15,000 members and belong to an alliance called Member-Owned Healthcare Funds. This alliance, consisting of 15 nonprofit health funds, promote healthy organisations which reward their members rather than investors or overseas owners.

With agreements with over 550 hospitals across Australia, Phoenix Health Fund Limited ensures that you’ll be covered in a hospital near your location. In addition, Phoenix Health Fund has an agreement with 36,000 Doctors who participate in the Access Gap Cover Scheme. This allows them to either reduce or eliminate any out of pocket costs incurred during admission.

Complete Extras 70 and Everyday Extras 60 are only available for purchase when combined with a Hospital policy and cannot be obtained as a stand-alone policy. You may be wondering how much Ambulance cover costs in Australia. Ambulance cover is automatically applied when members take out coverage from Phoenix Health Fund. With an Extras policy, there are limitations for ambulance cover. The lower your policy, the more limits you will receive. However, there are no limits on ambulance cover with Hospital policies. Ambulance only cover cannot be purchased through this private health insurer.
