Who is HIF Health Insurance?

The HIF story is one of expansion and growth.  In 1954, the organisation made its debut as a humble group of workers in government departments across Western Australia. Now there are members all over the country, thanks to increased coverage that has become possible due to them being an incorporated association under WA’s Associations Incorporations Act 1895 (WA). Then June 2010 saw another shift happen with some big changes. The company became known internationally and changed its name to the Health Insurance Fund Of Australia as its nationwide membership saw a dramatic increase.

Today, HIF is a unique healthcare fund that allows members to choose their own healthcare providers. The surpluses from this decision go back into the member’s account, resulting in lower premiums and increased rebates for them. The insurer is also the first carbon-neutral insurance company.

Pros and Cons of HIF Health
